Voting was executed in two administrative stages: Phase 1 polling covered 162 municipal bodies on 9 September 2026, and Phase 2 polling took place for the remaining 147 municipal bodies on 11 September 2026. With the vote counting and result declaration taking place on 14 September 2026 for ward members, the governance structure will move to indirect elections for executive leadership. The elections to select Mayors and Chairpersons across all bodies are scheduled for 21 September 2026, followed by elections for Deputy Mayors, Deputy Chairpersons, and Vice Presidents on 22 September 2026.
