A severe road tragedy struck Pratapgarh district on Sunday night when a head-on collision between two motorcycles near the Badi Bambori warehouse on Dhariyawad Road claimed the lives of two young men and left three others critically injured. The collision occurred as three relatives from Khataudi village were returning home after attending a public meeting addressed by former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. The impact of the crash was so high that all five individuals riding the two two-wheelers were flung onto the asphalt, sparking panic among bystanders and passersby.
Crash Occurred Following Political Gathering
According to available details, 25-year-old Anil, a resident of Khataudi village, along with his younger brother Badal and their cousin Kuldeep, had traveled to Devak Mata on Sunday to participate in a rally where former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot was delivering a speech. Following the conclusion of the event, the three men boarded a single motorcycle to head back to their village. However, while traveling along Dhariyawad Road, their vehicle collided head-on with another oncoming motorcycle near the Badi Bambori warehouse facility.
Two Succumb to Injuries at District Hospital
Eyewitnesses and local residents rushed to the spot immediately after the collision to assist the victims and alerted the authorities. Emergency services and bystanders helped transport all five injured youths to the District Hospital for urgent medical care. Despite medical intervention, 25-year-old Anil passed away while undergoing treatment. Another youth riding the second motorcycle also succumbed to his injuries during treatment; however, his identity has not yet been verified by officials, who are working to establish his credentials.
Tragic Blow to a Single Family
The incident has devastated the Khataudi community, particularly as three of the victims belong to the same household. Anil and Badal were biological brothers, while Kuldeep is their uncle's son. Both Badal and Kuldeep sustained serious injuries and remain under active treatment at the District Hospital alongside another youth from the opposing vehicle. News of the fatal collision triggered widespread grief in Khataudi village, where family members and neighbors gathered in mourning over the sudden loss.
Police Investigation and Vehicle Seizure
Upon being informed of the crash, a team from the Devgarh police station arrived at the scene to manage the situation and facilitate hospital transfers. Devgarh Police Station In-charge Kanaram and Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Manohar Lal inspected the crash site and gathered preliminary evidence. Law enforcement authorities have impounded both damaged motorcycles and launched an inquiry to determine the exact cause of the accident, including the speeds of both vehicles at the time of impact. Efforts are also underway to identify the second deceased rider and inform his family.
