This tragic incident in Banswara highlights the growing menace of speeding and reckless driving in rural areas, turning festive celebrations into lifelong grief in a split second. The lack of regular patrolling and speed monitoring systems on rural roads often emboldens reckless driving, contributing heavily to such fatal crashes. Law enforcement must invoke stringent penal provisions under the relevant legal framework against the absconding driver to establish a strong deterrent against high-speed violations on rural highways.
