The food safety department in Dholpur, Rajasthan, has launched a major crackdown against adulterators operating in the region. Authorities seized a substantial quantity of substandard and contaminated mawa from a prominent shop located in the Bajaria area of the city, ensuring the unfit product was immediately disposed of to protect public health.
Surprise Inspection at Bajaria Mawa Market
A specialized food safety team conducted a sudden raid at Agrasen Mawa Bhandar in the Bajaria locality. A mobile food testing laboratory deployed at the scene verified that the dairy product was heavily contaminated and unfit for human consumption. Following the test results, officials directed workers to dig a large pit on-site and buried the entire stock of 100 kg of bad mawa, destroying it completely. This swift intervention sent shockwaves through the local market.
Samples Collected Across Multiple Establishments
During the operation, the inspection team expanded its scope beyond a single shop, collecting a total of 6 food samples from five different business establishments in the area. Two separate mawa samples were gathered directly from the primary inspection site, Agrasen Mawa Bhandar. Additional samples of mawa were also procured from Mukesh Mawa Bhandar, Rahul Mawa Bhandar, and Surendra Mawa Bhandar.
Ghee Samples Sent for Laboratory Testing
Apart from the dairy solids, the inspection team also scrutinized other food items being sold in the vicinity. A sample of clarified butter was procured from Ghee Ghar and dispatched to a certified laboratory for detailed chemical analysis. Officials stated that further legal action and penal measures will be initiated based on the final test reports received for all collected samples.
