The electoral landscape for the urban local body elections 2026 in the Jaipur district became entirely clear following the conclusion of the nomination withdrawal window. Across the 690 wards spread throughout 19 civic bodies in the district, a total of 2,644 candidates remain in the political arena. According to official data, out of 3,361 contenders who were found validly nominated after scrutiny, as many as 714 individuals chose to withdraw their names. Furthermore, three candidates have secured victory unopposed following these withdrawals.
Nomination Scrutiny and Filing Statistics
A total of 4,868 nomination papers were originally filed across the 19 municipal bodies in the district. During the initial scrutiny phase, 1,382 nomination forms were rejected, leaving 3,486 papers as completely valid. Several rebel candidates from both major political parties also decided to pull out of the race, clearing the path for a more direct contest. The entire withdrawal process has significantly trimmed the initial list, setting the stage for the final electoral battles.
Ward Wise Contest Breakdown Across Bodies
The municipal corporation of Jaipur, comprising 150 wards, will witness the largest contest with 723 candidates vying for victory. This particular corporation saw the highest withdrawal count with 281 contenders stepping back. Meanwhile, Shahpura features 247 candidates, Bassi has 164, and Chaksu has 136 aspirants in the running. Manoharpur accounts for 120 contenders, while Chomu and Bagru have 119 candidates each ready to test their electoral fortunes.
Final Allotment of Election Symbols
Additional smaller bodies like Kishangarh-Renwal have 100 candidates, Dudu has 99, and Jamwaramgarh has 96 people contesting. Khejroli and Narayana feature 88 candidates each, Phagi has 85, and Vatika has 84 aspirants. Jobner registers 80 candidates, Phulera has 77, Kanota has 66, and Kaladera counts 65 contenders in the race. All these remaining candidates will receive their official election symbols today, which is expected to intensify the campaign momentum across the district.
