To shape the capital city of Rajasthan according to future demands, the state government has initiated steps to accelerate urban development projects. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma reviewed the operations of the Jaipur Development Authority, issuing strict directives to overhaul traffic management, expand modern amenities, and complete major infrastructure projects within stipulated deadlines. The Chief Minister emphasized developing Jaipur into an exemplary model of urban growth, ensuring residents enjoy superior basic infrastructure alongside safe and seamless transit. Officials were instructed to formulate plans keeping in view current needs as well as anticipated population growth, vehicular congestion, and future urban expansion.
JLN Marg Planned to Be Made Signal-Free
Presiding over the review meeting, the Chief Minister stressed the formulation of an effective traffic improvement plan to address the continuously rising vehicular burden in Jaipur. Specific directives were issued to work on a plan making key locations along JLN Marg entirely signal-free. This intervention will spare motorists from frequent stoppages at traffic lights, facilitating smoother daily commutes. The Chief Minister underscored that traffic reform must extend beyond vehicular movement, incorporating pedestrian safety and organized parking as core priorities within the planning framework.
Top Officials Directed to Conduct Field Inspections
To assess ground realities, the Chief Minister instructed the Chief Secretary and relevant departmental heads to visit the field and inspect traffic arrangements firsthand. By evaluating actual conditions on major arterial roads and congested intersections, authorities are tasked with finding practical solutions to relieve citizens from daily gridlock. Integrating safe pedestrian walkways, upgraded parking infrastructure, and comprehensive traffic management into a unified blueprint was highlighted as essential to systematically regulate traffic congestion across Jaipur's streets.
Hitech City and Medicity to Redefine Capital's Identity
Discussing the Hitech City project, the Chief Minister noted that Jaipur's geographical proximity to Delhi and the presence of a vast diaspora of non-resident Rajasthanis globally create immense avenues for investment and growth. Capitalizing on these prospects, Hitech City is slated for development as an advanced model equipped with cutting-edge technology and global standards, prioritizing future urban needs.
Simultaneously, while reviewing the Medicity project, the Chief Minister insisted on outfitting it with state-of-the-art healthcare facilities. Both Hitech City and Medicity are envisioned to evolve as the defining symbols of a new Jaipur, significantly elevating the capital's stature in modern urban infrastructure and medical care.
Strict Action Promised Against Delays in Development Works
The Chief Minister mandated the completion of all development projects strictly within designated timelines. He stated that every undertaking must have a clear schedule subject to regular monitoring of progress. Unnecessary delays or administrative negligence will invite stringent action against accountable officers and staff. The high-level meeting was attended by Chief Secretary V. Srinivas, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Akhil Arora, Additional Chief Secretary of Urban Development and Housing Alok Gupta, Principal Finance Secretary Vaibhav Galariya, and JDA Commissioner Siddharth Mahajan, alongside various other senior bureaucrats.
