Preparations have reached completion for the upcoming Shardiya Navratri Fair at the renowned Kaila Devi Temple in Karauli, Rajasthan. Scheduled to run for ten days from October 11 to October 20, the religious gathering is expected to draw a massive influx of devotees from across the country. In anticipation of the heavy footfall, the district administration along with the temple trust has finalized comprehensive arrangements covering security, traffic management, sanitation, and essential pilgrim amenities to ensure a smooth darshan experience.
Administrative Inspection and Inter-Departmental Coordination
District Collector Akshay Godara inspected the Kaila Devi Temple premises to evaluate ground-level preparations. He instructed officials from all participating departments to finish pending works within the stipulated timeframe and maintain seamless inter-agency coordination throughout the event. Concurrently, Superintendent of Police Lokesh Sonwal held a briefing to lay down directives on law enforcement, crowd management, and vehicular movement across all access corridors leading to the shrine.
Robust Security Deployment and CCTV Surveillance
To maintain order during the ten-day congregation, a security detail comprising approximately 250 police personnel will be stationed across the venue. Continuous electronic surveillance will be conducted via more than 300 CCTV cameras installed inside the temple complex and around surrounding public areas. Dedicated disaster response units from the SDRF and Civil Defence have also been mobilized to tackle any emergency situations, working in tandem with nearly 200 temple trust personnel managing operational duties.
Safety Measures at Kalisil River Ghats and Pilgrim Amenities
Special safety and sanitation measures have been instituted along the banks of the Kalisil River, where large numbers of pilgrims assemble to take a holy dip. Certified divers will be stationed across key river ghats to prevent drowning incidents. Within the shrine area, authorities have set up drinking water points, resting shelters, organized queue systems, designated parking grounds, and tricycles for differently-abled visitors. Emergency medical aid posts and standby ambulances will operate continuously.
Navratri Rituals, Chanting, and Daily Kanya Pujan
Temple Trust Manager Pradeep Dwivedi shared details regarding the logistical setup for pilgrims. According to Rashi Prakash Jatin, daily religious rituals will be performed inside the shrine across the festive period. The schedule includes the recitation of 101 Durga Saptashati paths, 108 Bhairav Stotra chants, and the organization of the Durga Bhagwat. Daily traditions of Kanya Pujan and serving food to young girls will be carried out, alongside individual devotees performing Ghatasthapana for their personal vows.
