Renowned across the country for its rich cultural and historical heritage, the national Dussehra fair in Kota is drawing immense attention this year for its remarkable preparations. Standing tall as the central attraction at the Dussehra ground right in front of the Vijayashri Rangmanch, a massive 105-foot effigy of Ravana along with grand effigies of Kumbhkaran and Meghnad, each measuring 72 feet, have been fully erected. Since Tuesday morning, large crowds of local residents have been flocking to the grounds to catch a glimpse of these towering structures and capture photographs with them.
High-Tech Features and Modern Engineering
The Ravana effigy constructed for this year stands out not merely for its colossal height but also due to its advanced high-tech attributes. This sophisticated creation is engineered to rotate its neck a full 360 degrees, blink its eyes and eyelids, twitch its mustache, and move a sword held firmly in its hand. Organizers have embedded special and dazzling fireworks within the interior framework of the effigies to create a stunning visual spectacle. Furthermore, the attire for the main effigy has been meticulously crafted using premium velvet fabric to enhance its regal appearance.
Vibrant Crowds, Amusements, and Culinary Delights
Strict security arrangements have been put in place across the venue for the festive celebrations, with police personnel and scout guides deployed in full readiness to maintain order. Towering amusement rides such as Dollar and Disco Dancer are major draws for visitors, while stalls featuring children toys and traditional accessories for women add to the marketplace charm. Food enthusiasts are thronging legendary spots including Sheere-Punjab Ice Cream, Pannalal Ji, and Jain Pakode alongside traditional sweet shops to savor local delicacies in large numbers.
Royal Procession and Cultural Evenings
On the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashami, a magnificent royal procession carrying the idols of Lord Laxminarayan and Lord Rama will commence from the historic Garh Palace. Accompanied by traditional pageantry, the procession will make its way to the Dussehra ground. Alongside this majestic tradition, a series of multi-day cultural events will kick off at the Vijayashri Rangmanch featuring devotional bhajan evenings, Punjabi night performances, and showcases by renowned artists to elevate the festive spirit.
