Body Discovered Near Shyamarupa Temple
The grim discovery was made near the Shyamarupa temple deep inside the Garh Jungle located in West Bengal. According to observers at the scene, a red cloth was wrapped around the neck of the deceased. He was dressed in a red dhoti and a white vest. What added to the mystery was the unusual posture of the body, as its knees were bent and the feet were touching the ground, leaving locals baffled about the exact sequence of events.
Missing Since Sunday Evening
The deceased has been identified as 33-year-old Lakshriram Mandi, a resident of the Dangal area under the Bankati gram panchayat in the Kanksa block. Family members reported that he had suddenly gone missing after Sunday evening. When he failed to return home for a prolonged period, his relatives grew anxious and launched an extensive search across neighboring areas and acquaintances' houses, but he remained untraceable.
Police Intervention and Post-Mortem
On Monday, locals venturing near the Shyamarupa temple spotted the body hanging from a tree in the forest. Upon closer inspection, they identified the individual and immediately alerted the Kanksa Malandighi police outpost. Law enforcement personnel rushed to the site, retrieved the body, and subsequently sent it to the Durgapur Sub-Divisional Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

At present, authorities have not confirmed whether the incident was a case of suicide or if foul play was involved. The puzzling physical state of the body has deepened the mystery.
