A remarkable and inspiring initiative has taken shape in Nagaur district, where locals have stepped forward to ensure proper medical care for stray and helpless animals. In Nimbi Jodha village, the Veer Tejaji Go Seva Samiti has taken a commendable step by arranging a special ambulance dedicated to cattle. Stray animals and livestock frequently fall victim to road accidents and sudden illnesses, often suffering for long periods due to a lack of timely medical assistance. To tackle this pressing issue, the committee joined hands with local residents and generous donors to purchase a dedicated transport vehicle for animals.
The newly acquired vehicle cost approximately 12 lakh 30 thousand rupees. The arrival of the ambulance in the village has brought immense joy and relief to animal lovers and local residents alike. The office-bearers and youth associated with the Veer Tejaji Go Seva Samiti had observed the daily struggles faced by stray animals in the area and resolved to find a permanent solution. Following this, an appeal for financial support was made to villagers, social workers, and philanthropists. Responding enthusiastically, the community contributed according to their means, successfully turning the campaign into a reality. Through these collective efforts, the vehicle was procured and brought to Nimbi Jodha from Ladnun.
Advanced lift system to ease loading of injured cattle
Recognizing that a standard vehicle would not suffice for injured livestock, the committee is getting the ambulance customized to suit the specific needs of animals. An additional investment of around 4 lakh rupees is being made to install a specialized lift system inside the vehicle. When animals suffer severe injuries in road collisions, lifting them manually into a transport vehicle is an immense challenge. In many cases, injured cattle are unable to stand up due to extreme pain and trauma. The upcoming lift system will safely hoist disabled and immobile animals into the vehicle without causing them further agony.
Lifeline for animals injured on nearby national highways
Two national highways pass through Nimbi Jodha and its surrounding regions. These busy corridors witness frequent road mishaps where cattle and other stray animals are often struck by speeding vehicles. Due to the absence of proper rescue mechanisms in the past, injured animals would lie on the roadside for hours without receiving medical attention. Recognizing this vulnerability, the youth of the committee took it upon themselves to establish a dedicated animal ambulance service. With the lift system soon to be operational, distressed animals can be swiftly transported to medical facilities, greatly strengthening animal welfare efforts across Nimbi Jodha and neighboring villages.
Community cooperation drives this unique welfare mission
Committee President Madanlal Tolia explained that small financial contributions from local donors and villagers were instrumental in making this campaign successful. He emphasized that this ambulance is not merely a vehicle, but a vital step toward preserving the lives of voiceless creatures. He further noted that once the lift installation is finalized, the ambulance will be deployed for regular service across the region. The committee remains firmly committed to ensuring that sick animals and those hurt in road accidents receive immediate medical help.
