Farmer leader Naresh Meena has formally concluded his ten-day indefinite hunger strike in Rajasthan's Baran district after an extensive round of deliberations with the district administration yielded an agreement. The resolution of the prolonged protest has brought widespread relief to his family members, associates, and supporting farmers. Due to the severe physical strain of prolonged fasting, his condition had deteriorated considerably, prompting medical authorities to place him under close clinical surveillance in the cottage ward of Baran district hospital.
Deteriorating Health Metrics and Medical Observations
The prolonged fast had begun taking a visible toll on his vital parameters. During routine clinical diagnostics conducted at the hospital, urine examinations revealed elevated ketone levels, underscoring the delicate state of his physical health. A designated panel of doctors was continuously monitoring his medical indicators. However, once mutual consensus was reached on key grievances and his well-wishers made persistent appeals, he agreed to end the hunger strike by consuming fruit juice.
Administrative Talks with the 11-Member Delegation
A structured dialogue was convened between administrative leadership and a delegation representing Naresh Meena to address the charter of demands. The 11-member negotiating committee included Sandeep Sharma, a district pramukh contender from Teesra Morcha, alongside former municipal chairman Kamal Rathore, Ramhet Meena, and Vandana Nagar. The delegation held detailed discussions with the District Collector and the Superintendent of Police. During these negotiations, complete accord was achieved regarding local grievances as well as major points requiring action at the Jaipur state level.
MLA Ravindra Singh Bhati and Mother Facilitate Fast Breaking
Upon receiving updates regarding his declining health, Sheo MLA Ravindra Singh Bhati arrived at the Baran district hospital. Standing alongside Naresh Meena's mother, Prem Bai, the legislator made an emotional appeal urging him to safeguard his well-being. Acknowledging the administrative agreement, family entreaties, and collective requests, Naresh Meena accepted fruit juice from his mother and the lawmaker to officially conclude the ten-day fast. Prominent local leaders including Kamal Rathore and Sandeep Sharma, along with numerous supporters, gathered at the facility.
Public Apology and Commitment Against Controversial Remarks
During the event, Chitrangada Singh, recognized as the viral face of the CJP protest, also visited the hospital ward to present a rose to Naresh Meena in recognition of his extended agitation for farming communities. Additionally, responding to a direct appeal from a young girl present at the scene, Naresh Meena spontaneously held his ears in apology and made a firm commitment to refrain from making controversial statements concerning women in the future, bringing a constructive close to the prolonged standoff.
