Aviation connectivity in Jodhpur has been on an upward trajectory since the opening of the new airport facility, and local travelers are now set to receive another new connection. Air India Express is preparing to launch a service operating between Mumbai, Jodhpur, and Delhi starting from September 1, with ticket bookings already opened for the route. However, reports have surfaced indicating that bookings for two separate flights operated by Air India to Delhi and Mumbai might be suspended from the exact same date. This situation creates a dual scenario where passengers gain a new travel option while simultaneously facing the potential loss of two existing flight schedules.
Detailed schedule and travel duration for the new service
The upcoming flight will depart from Mumbai at 11:05 AM and land in Jodhpur at 12:55 PM. It will then depart from Jodhpur at 1:30 PM and arrive in Delhi at 2:55 PM. On the return leg, the aircraft will leave Delhi at 3:45 PM, reach Jodhpur at 5:05 PM, and subsequently depart for Mumbai at 5:35 PM to arrive at 7:20 PM. Through this routing via Jodhpur, the total travel time from Mumbai to Delhi will take approximately 4 hours, whereas the journey from Delhi to Mumbai will be completed in about three and a half hours.
Jodhpur current connectivity spanning seven major cities
During the ongoing summer season, a total of 10 flights are being operated from Jodhpur airport, connecting the city to seven different destinations including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Pune, Hyderabad, and Greater Noida. The introduction of this upcoming flight will provide passengers with an additional choice for commuting between Mumbai and Delhi. At present, air travel from Delhi to Jodhpur takes roughly an hour and a quarter, while the journey from Mumbai to Jodhpur spans about 1 hour and 50 minutes.
Plans to connect four new destinations in the winter season
Air connectivity from Jodhpur is anticipated to expand further with the onset of the winter season. The airport administration has dispatched formal letters to various airline carriers requesting the initiation of new flights linking the city to Kolkata, Chennai, Dehradun, and Goa. Additionally, requests have been made to Akasa Air and SpiceJet to commence operations to Jodhpur. Furthermore, authorities have asked the Indian Air Force to extend the operational timing of the airport from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM. During the previous winter season, Jodhpur maintained air links with nine cities through a total of 11 operational flights.
