Sirohi: Patta Row Involving Sarpanch's Family Reaches ACB
In Sirohi district's Rampura gram panchayat, a dispute has surfaced over land leases allegedly issued in favour of the sarpanch's family in violation of rules. The complainant alleges that the leases were created even while a related matter was pending before a court, and claims the irregularity caused a loss of lakhs of rupees to government revenue. Having first sought action at the local level without any hearing, the complainant carried the relevant documents directly to the headquarters of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) and filed a formal complaint. The complaint demands a fair investigation and strict action against the officials and staff found responsible.
Chittorgarh Cricket Body Election Row
The Chittorgarh District Cricket Association declared all its posts filled unopposed. Pradeep Laddha was elected president, Shyam Singh Chauhan secretary, and Pankaj Jaroli treasurer, while the posts of vice president, joint secretary and executive committee members were also filled without contest. However, former office bearers and several club members have questioned the entire process, alleging that the election was conducted secretly on July 19 without informing them. The aggrieved members have demanded a fair inquiry into the election process and appropriate action against those responsible.
CM Bhajanlal Sharma's Meeting-Packed Monday
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma spent Monday occupied with official engagements at his 8 Civil Lines residence in Jaipur. At 12 noon, he chaired a meeting of the State Level Vigilance and Monitoring Committee concerning the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, where the effective implementation of the law and pending cases were reviewed. He then went on to attend several departmental meetings. At 4 PM, he launched the Mukhyamantri Yuva Suyog Karyakram from his residence, and at 7 PM he attended an event at Raj Rajeshwari Mataji Bandh ki Ghati in Jaisinghpura Khor.
Banswara: Runaway Truck Nearly Plunges Off Gaman Bridge
On Monday, a speeding truck went out of control on the Gaman bridge in Banswara district, smashing through the railing and ending up dangling in the middle of the bridge. Preliminary findings suggest the driver dozed off at the wheel, causing him to lose control of the vehicle. Fortunately, the truck did not fall off the bridge, and both the driver and the cleaner riding along with him escaped unhurt. A crowd gathered at the spot soon after the incident, and long queues of vehicles built up on both sides of the bridge, disrupting traffic. Police reached the scene on being alerted, restored the flow of traffic and began work to safely remove the truck. The incident is under investigation.
Jaipur Rural: Container Rams Toll Booth, Driver Injured
Late at night, an out-of-control container truck rammed into the toll booth at Manoharpur toll plaza in rural Jaipur. The driver of the container was injured in the crash. Villagers from the surrounding area gathered at the site after the accident. Police arrived on receiving information and had the injured driver taken to hospital. Preliminary reports indicate the accident happened because the vehicle went out of control. Police are investigating the exact cause, and traffic at the toll plaza was restored to normal after the container was removed.
