A re-examination for NEET PG is underway in Jaipur today following a technical disruption that disrupted the initial test. On August 30, while thousands of young medical professionals were attempting their computer-based examination, the internal power supply at the ION Digital Zone in Sitapura, Jaipur, suddenly failed. The technical glitch caused computer screens to go blank, momentarily threatening months of rigorous preparation. In response to the affected candidates whose tests were cut short, the National Board of Examinations and local authorities scheduled the re-exam for today, September 5.
Comprehensive Arrangements Across Five Jaipur Centers
The Jaipur district administration and the testing agency NBEMS have left no stone unturned for the NEET PG re-exam. The computer-based test is being conducted from 3:00 PM to 6:30 PM across five selected examination centers in the city. A total of 2,499 candidates are participating in the re-test. Learning from the events of August 30, robust backup power arrangements, cybersecurity protocols, and law and order measures have been put in place to ensure smooth proceedings.
Distribution of Centers and Candidate Count
To manage crowd distribution and maintain order, the administration has designated five major educational institutes as examination venues across Jaipur. Shri Balaji College of Engineering and Technology hosts the highest number of candidates, with 889 doctors taking the exam there. Jaipur Engineering College accommodates 640 candidates for the re-test. Alankar Mahila PG Mahavidyalaya has computer setups for 350 aspirants, Aurobindo International School hosts 340 candidates, and Shankara Institute of Technology oversees the examination of 280 students.
Double-Backup Plan to Combat Power Outages
Taking strict lessons from the previous power failure, the electricity department JVVNL has been instructed to maintain uninterrupted power supply at all designated NEET PG venues. In addition, heavy-duty generators and online UPS systems have been arranged as a double-backup at every center. This ensures that even if the main grid experiences a disruption, the computer systems will not shut down for even a single second, protecting the candidates from losing valuable time.
Cybersecurity and Flying Squad Surveillance
To prevent any potential hacking or malpractice during the online examination, specialized cyber cell teams alongside local police personnel have been deployed. Flying squads are conducting continuous surprise inspections across the centers to curb any unfair means. Candidates are granted entry into the examination labs only after completing biometric attendance and facial recognition procedures.
High Alert for Medical and Emergency Services
Beyond standard police deployment, extensive preparations have been made outside the examination halls to handle any emergency situations. Considering the weather conditions and candidate stress, clean drinking water and medical teams are stationed at every center. Doctors and ambulances remain on standby to address medical emergencies, while fire engines have also been positioned at the venues to meet safety compliance standards.
