In an important economic boost announced just ahead of the festive season, the Rajasthan state administration led by Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has sanctioned a 3 percent hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR). With this fiscal adjustment, the allowance rate disbursed to working state personnel as well as retired pensioners will rise from the existing 60 percent to reach 63 percent. The formal rollout of this enhanced compensation package is set to directly benefit over 7 lakh active government employees alongside more than 5 lakh pensioners across the state.
Cash Disbursement in November Pay Alongside GPF Arrear Transfers
Under the implementation blueprint outlined by the administration, the revised financial benefits will follow a phased payout mechanism. The arrears accumulated across the four-month window extending from July through October will be transferred into the General Provident Fund (GPF) accounts of eligible personnel. From the regular salary cycle of November onwards, the augmented allowance will be disbursed directly in cash as part of the monthly pay package. This revision directly covers government employees drawing payments under the seventh pay commission matrix. A completely equivalent escalation has been simultaneously extended to former personnel, ensuring that pensioner allowances reflect the updated 63 percent compensation standard.
Ad Hoc Festival Bonus Extended to Nearly 6 Lakh Personnel
Beyond the regular monthly compensation adjustment, the state government has additionally cleared an ad hoc bonus package specifically targeted at approximately 6 lakh eligible staff members. Receiving this festive allocation right before Diwali offers substantive support to employees managing seasonal household spending, holiday shopping, and travel expenses. The dual-component fiscal package delivers a compounding advantage to qualifying employees, pairing a permanent upward revision in monthly allowances with a one-off festive bonus credit timed directly with the festival calendar.
Fiscal Outlay of Approximately 1226 Crore Rupees for State Treasury
The collective execution of the 3 percent allowance revision, corresponding pensioner relief adjustments, and the ad hoc bonus payout will place an additional financial commitment of around 1226 crore rupees upon the state exchequer. Emphasizing the rationale behind the policy move, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma noted that state personnel carry out an essential function in driving regional development and governance. He stated that the government remains resolute in backing worker welfare, underscoring that this pre-festival relief package aims to provide meaningful economic comfort to hundreds of thousands of public servant households.
