A community driven initiative focused on empowering rural women through education and vocational training has been introduced at Sasio ki Dhani in Gujrawas, situated in the Banar area of Jodhpur. The project aims to bridge the gap between formal schooling and practical livelihood opportunities by organizing continuous skill building exercises. Local girls and women have shown keen interest in learning practical trades, including tailoring. The core objective behind this program is to equip women from rural households with sustainable capabilities that enable financial self sufficiency, allowing them to participate meaningfully in the social and economic progress of their families and community. As part of this drive, a dedicated training centre providing completely free tailoring instruction has been officially launched.
Expanding Social Priorities Towards Education and Livelihoods
Speaking at the inaugural gathering, social activist Ajay Singh Sasi motivated local girls to actively utilize vocational training initiatives to secure financial independence alongside their studies. He emphasized that the overall development of any social community should not remain confined to conventional social and religious engagements. Instead, efforts centered on education and employment generation must receive equal importance. Equipping young women with practical, market relevant crafts alongside standard education creates multiple pathways for both salaried work and independent entrepreneurial ventures.
Combining Technical Tailoring with Career Readiness and Personality Building
The daily management and training responsibilities of the newly established Gujrawas centre will be handled by social workers Sachin Sahawat and Madhuri. Beyond technical garment making and stitching methods, the facility will provide dedicated personality development modules for enrolled candidates. These sessions are structured to teach students how to prepare professional resumes, present their qualifications with clarity, and align their capabilities with emerging workplace demands. The overarching goal is to elevate interpersonal confidence and improve general employability among young rural women.
Integrating Skill Development with Public Welfare Schemes
Organizers plan to connect trained participants with various government welfare and entrepreneurship schemes in subsequent phases. This linkage will help trainees secure financial backing, equipment, or business resources needed to start their own enterprises or find local employment after finishing their coursework. This intervention forms part of a broader campaign aimed at upskilling rural populations across the country. By turning rural young women into skilled, income generating individuals, the initiative seeks to drive household prosperity and foster long term social development starting from grassroots pockets like Gujrawas.
