The ongoing process of counting offerings collected from the donation boxes at the renowned Krishna shrine of Shri Sanwaliya Ji in Mewar is progressing steadily. On September 15, the third round of counting for the temple treasury was successfully concluded. During this latest phase, an amount of 5 crore 58 lakh 2 thousand rupees was retrieved from the donation boxes. Combined with the previous counts, the total collection tallied across the first three rounds has now reached 20 crore 63 lakh 56 thousand rupees. A portion of the offerings still remains inside the treasury and will be tallied during the upcoming fourth round.
Breakdown of collections across initial rounds
According to the temple board, the counting process commenced on September 10. The opening round itself yielded a massive 7 crore 53 lakh 60 thousand rupees in donations. Subsequently, the second round recorded 7 crore 51 lakh 94 thousand rupees. Following the completion of the third round on Tuesday, an additional 5 crore 58 lakh 2 thousand rupees were accounted for. Bringing all three tallies together, the cumulative collection stands at 20 crore 63 lakh 56 thousand rupees so far.
Reasons behind the temporary pause in counting
The counting process experienced a four-day interruption after the boxes were initially opened on September 10. Operations were halted on September 11 due to Amavasya. Following that, banks remained closed on September 12 and 13 due to the weekend falling on Saturday and Sunday. These consecutive holidays temporarily paused the counting schedule. Work resumed on September 14 with the second round, which concluded on Monday. This was followed immediately by the third round on Tuesday, September 15, setting the stage for the fourth round scheduled for Wednesday, September 16.
Pending tallies for online donations and precious metals
Significant amounts of offerings still remain inside the temple treasury to be processed. Additionally, authorities have yet to tally donations received through online platforms and money orders sent by devotees. Furthermore, the weighing and recording of gold and silver ornaments and other valuable items offered by worshippers at the presentation room are still pending. The temple board has been releasing updated figures after the completion of each round. With collections already exceeding twenty crore rupees in just three rounds, devotees are now awaiting the final results of the fourth round, which will determine the overall total once online offerings and precious metals are fully accounted for.
