A major and horrific road accident has taken place near Masuda in the Ajmer district of Rajasthan. A tractor-trolley packed with pilgrims coming from the revered Baba Ramdevra fair in Jaisalmer and heading toward the holy pilgrimage site of Pushkar collided head-on with an incoming bus. The impact of the crash was so severe that the tractor-trolley carrying the devotees overturned right on the spot. This tragic accident resulted in the death of two pilgrims, while 16 others sustained serious injuries.
Pilgrims Journeying From Ramdevra to Pushkar
According to available details, all the devotees traveling in the vehicle belong to the Mandsaur district of Madhya Pradesh. After paying their respects at the Baba Ramdevra shrine in Jaisalmer, they had set out to seek blessings at the Pushkar pilgrimage center. However, before they could reach Pushkar, the mishap occurred near Masuda. At the time of the collision, roughly 30 to 35 devotees were riding inside the tractor-trolley, which included 15 women and 17 men.
Chaos and Panic Erupts at the Crash Site
Immediately after the accident, cries for help and chaos filled the entire area. Prompted by alerts from local residents, the 108 ambulance call center dispatched five to six ambulances to the accident site without delay. All the injured individuals were rushed swiftly to the sub-district hospital in Masuda for urgent medical attention.
Two Devotees Succumb While Being Transferred to Ajmer
At the Masuda sub-district hospital, a team of doctors provided initial treatment before determining that 18 of the pilgrims were in critical condition. Given the severity of their injuries, they were immediately referred to the Jawaharlal Nehru (JLN) Hospital in Ajmer. While being transported to Ajmer, two of the critically injured devotees passed away on the way.
Ongoing Treatment for the Injured in Ajmer
At present, 16 critically injured victims are receiving medical care at the Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital in Ajmer, whereas other pilgrims with minor injuries were discharged from the hospital following first aid. The local police have initiated a detailed investigation into the matter to determine the exact circumstances of the collision.
