A tragic incident unfolded in the rural parts of Kota district in Rajasthan, where two individuals lost their lives after jumping into a river to evade law enforcement. A police checkpoint had been set up near the Mandawara area as part of routine vehicle screening, which startled two individuals traveling in a car. Overwhelmed by panic and fearing apprehension, the occupants abandoned their vehicle and plunged directly into the flowing Chambal River. Due to the strong water currents and deep waters, both individuals drowned before they could reach safety, creating an immediate stir within the local police department as senior officials rushed to the spot.
Local authorities have been running a special crackdown across the region to curb the illegal trade of narcotics. As part of this ongoing initiative, a special intercept team had set up barricades on the expressway near Mandawara. When a suspicious vehicle approached the checkpoint, the people inside noticed the officers and panicked. To avoid legal consequences, they abruptly halted their car and leaped into the adjacent river.
Forensic Investigation and Recovery of Bodies
