A comprehensive administrative overhaul is being introduced at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya to streamline daily management, security measures, and devotee facilities. Following the appointment of former Air Marshal Jitendra Mishra as the first Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the temple trust, significant operational refinements are being executed across multiple departments. The new administrative model is designed to establish complete transparency, professional efficiency, and centralized accountability throughout the temple complex.
Expanded Operational Scope and Devotee Services
Under the revised administrative framework, the CEO will supervise a wide spectrum of organizational duties to improve visitor experiences and facility maintenance. Primary responsibilities encompass optimizing darshan queues, elevating amenities for visiting devotees, handling staff management, and exercising strict oversight over all financial affairs. Additionally, procurement and tendering protocols, inter-agency coordination with security forces, information technology (IT) infrastructure, and the periodic review of ongoing construction projects will fall under the direct purview of the CEO. Monitoring mechanisms have been set up to track project timelines and ensure completion within designated deadlines.
The administrative structure clearly distinguishes between management duties and sacred rituals. While the CEO focuses exclusively on logistics, administration, financial control, and infrastructure development, all matters pertaining to worship protocols, religious ceremonies, and traditional rituals remain under the exclusive authority of the temple religious committee.
Enhanced Donation Oversight and Extended CCTV Storage
To reinforce financial accountability and security, a stringent monitoring mechanism has been introduced for offerings and donations. The entire journey of cash from the donation counting room to its deposit into bank accounts will take place under continuous high-definition video surveillance. Precise records will document the transport of cash to financial institutions to eliminate discrepancies. A dedicated team of 43 designated employees will handle the donation counting process under strictly enforced operational protocols.
To guarantee complete transparency, a specialized mandatory dress code has been established for all counting staff. Entry and exit points at the counting facility will also be under constant camera coverage. Furthermore, temple authorities have substantially expanded security footage preservation guidelines. Previously, CCTV footage of the counting area was retained for a period of 45 days. Under the newly implemented regulations, all recorded CCTV footage will now be safely archived for up to 190 days.
CEO Strategy Formulation and Message to Devotees
Addressing his appointment, former Air Marshal Jitendra Mishra stated that he is currently engaged in evaluating every aspect of the existing administrative and operational ecosystem. He explained that strategic plans will be framed in close alignment with the guidance provided by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. Once comprehensive strategies are finalized, they will be systematically rolled out to deliver visible improvements for devotees in the coming days.
Describing the appointment as a divine blessing, Jitendra Mishra sought the trust, goodwill, and blessings of Ram devotees worldwide. He reiterated that a thorough understanding of current operational realities will serve as the foundation for finalizing long-term management strategies at the temple.
