The ten-day Ganesh festival reaches its grand conclusion today on Anant Chaturdashi. How to Perform Uttar Puja Before Visarjan
Before taking Lord Ganesha for immersion, families perform a final set of prayers known as Uttar Puja at home or the altar. The ritual begins by offering a ceremonial bath or holy Gangajal to the deity. Clean garments, fresh flowers, sacred durva grass, vermilion, and unbroken rice grains are then presented to the idol. Devotees offer modaks, laddoos, fresh fruits, and other traditional sweets as Naivedya according to their devotion. Incense and oil lamps are lit to perform the final aarti. All family members gather to pray for happiness, harmony, prosperity, and the removal of all obstacles. When sending off Lord Ganesha, a small bundle wrapped in red or yellow cloth is prepared and given along with the idol. This farewell bundle contains several items considered auspicious. Modaks or laddoos are included as the deity's favorite sweets. Sacred durva grass, which is dear to Lord Ganesha, is added to the bundle. A knot of turmeric is included to bring auspiciousness and prosperity. A betel nut represents completeness and the fulfillment of the rituals. Unbroken rice grains symbolize eternity and continuity. A small offering of coins or monetary Dakshina is also tied inside as a mark of reverence during the final farewell.

The Amrit Choghadiya is active from 9:12 AM to 10:42 AM. The Shubh Choghadiya falls between 12:13 PM and 1:43 PM. The Char and Labh muhurat remains active from 12:15 PM to 03:18 PM. The primary auspicious window for Ganesh Visarjan spans from 06:02 AM to 02:36 PM. The morning auspicious period lasts from 06:12 AM to 10:42 AM. Special segments include the Abhijit Muhurat from 11:48 AM to 12:36 PM and the Vijay Muhurat from 02:14 PM to 03:02 PM.
