The renowned Khajrana Ganesh Temple in Indore has witnessed an unprecedented surge in devotee offerings, marking its highest-ever donation collection during the recent counting drive. Officials managed the opening of 40 donation boxes in August, recovering a total sum of Rs 1,81,12,050. The substantial cash accumulation highlights both the steady flow of pilgrims visiting the shrine and their growing financial contributions over the past several months.
A 35.5 Percent Increase Over Five Months
The August collection represents a major leap when compared directly with the preceding donation count conducted in March. During the March count, the temple administration recorded Rs 1,33,67,724 from the shrine's donation boxes. Within just a five-month span, the total offerings rose by Rs 47,44,000, registering an impressive growth rate of approximately 35.5 percent. Temple officials noted that this single collection stands as the largest amount ever retrieved from the donation boxes at Khajrana Ganesh Temple.
Two-Year Trend Reaches Over Rs 11 Crore Alongside Online Offerings
Looking at the broader financial trends over the past two years, the temple's donation boxes have been opened and counted a total of seven times. Across these seven cycles, the cumulative offerings have comfortably surpassed Rs 11 crore. In addition to physical cash deposits, digital contributions have also grown steadily. Devotees have donated approximately Rs 75 lakh through various online channels over the past 12 months, reflecting a shift toward digital payments alongside traditional cash offerings.
Plans for a Dedicated Counting Hall and Enhanced CCTV Oversight
To handle the substantial volume of cash and ensure absolute accountability, the temple management has instituted strict monitoring procedures. A large team of counting personnel worked under continuous closed-circuit television (CCTV) surveillance to enumerate the contents of all 40 donation boxes, maintaining detailed accounting logs for every note and coin. To further streamline future operations and enhance process transparency, the temple administration has drafted a formal proposal to construct a dedicated, fully equipped counting hall within the complex.
