According to the Vedic calendar (Panchang), the Krishna Paksha Ekadashi tithi of Sawan month commences on August 8, 2026, at 1:59 PM. The tithi will conclude on August 9, 2026, at 11:04 AM. Following the traditional Udayatithi rule followed in Hindu tradition, where the date of a fast is decided by the tithi prevailing at sunrise, the fast for Kamika Ekadashi will be observed on August 9, 2026. In addition, the second Ekadashi of Sawan month, known as Putrada Ekadashi, will be observed on August 23, 2026.
Auspicious Yogas and Puja Timings
On August 9, 2026, Kamika Ekadashi is marked by the celestial combination of two highly favorable yogas, namely Dvipushkar Yog and Harshan Yog. Dvipushkar Yog will form at 11:04 AM on August 9 and remain active until 2:43 PM in the afternoon. Meanwhile, Harshan Yog will prevail right from early morning on August 9 and continue until 2:04 AM on August 10.

Brahma Muhurat starts in the early morning at 4:22 AM and lasts until 5:04 AM. Parana Date, Timings, and Ritual Rules
The ritualistic conclusion of an Ekadashi fast is officially termed as Parana. For Kamika Ekadashi, the Parana will take place on August 10, 2026. The most auspicious time window to break the fast is between 6:18 AM and 8:00 AM on August 10. The Dwadashi tithi comes to an end shortly after at 8:07 AM on August 10.
As per scriptural guidelines, Ekadashi fasts must strictly be broken after sunrise on the following day and prior to the expiration of Dwadashi tithi. If Dwadashi tithi terminates before sunrise, the fast should be broken immediately following sunrise. Devotees traditionally consume simple sattvic food during Parana and offer donations to the needy to complete their religious vow.
