According to him, if unmarried individuals observe this fast with genuine devotion, favourable marriage prospects begin to take shape quickly.
What makes Pradosh Vrat significant
Pradosh Vrat falls twice every month and is considered a special opportunity for devotees of Lord Shiva to earn merit. It is believed that worshipping with proper rituals on this day removes life's hardships and opens the path to happiness, prosperity and success. Devotees observe a day long fast and break it only after worshipping the Shiva family during the Pradosh period in the evening. Married women who keep this fast are believed to see happiness, peace and good fortune grow in their lives, while for unmarried people the vrat is considered helpful in bringing marriage prospects sooner.
July's first Pradosh Vrat falls on 12th July
According to the Vedic calendar, the Trayodashi tithi of Krishna Paksha in the month of Ashadha will begin around 02:04 am on 12 July 2026 and will last until around 10:29 pm the same night. As a result, the first Pradosh Vrat of July will be observed on Sunday, 12 July. Since it falls on a Sunday, it will be known as Ravi Pradosh Vrat. The most auspicious window for worship, known as Pradosh Kaal, will run from 07:22 pm to 09:24 pm that evening.

Three remedies to try if marriage is getting delayed
Astrologer Anand Bhardwaj says that if a marriage proposal keeps stalling again and again, a few specific remedies performed with devotion on Pradosh Vrat can prove effective.
- First remedy: If obstacles keep cropping up in marriage negotiations, perform a special abhishek of Lord Shiva on Pradosh Vrat. After bathing, mix black sesame seeds into Ganga water and offer it to the Shivling. This remedy is believed to pacify planetary doshas and quickly create favourable conditions for marriage.
- Second remedy: If repeated hurdles in marriage are being attributed to a weak Venus, perform an abhishek of Lord Shiva with honey and fragrant water on Pradosh Vrat. Carried out after bathing and making a donation, this remedy is believed to help strengthen the planet Venus.
- Third remedy: If marriage keeps getting delayed for any reason, this remedy is considered beneficial. After bathing on this day, wear red clothing and worship Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati with devotion. During the puja, offer sindoor to Goddess Parvati and apply the same sindoor on your forehead while praying for an early marriage. This is believed to remove obstacles related to marriage.
