New Delhi: Prominent national squash talent Anahat Singh is leaving no stone unturned in her preparations to upgrade her previous podium finishes at the upcoming continental games. The major multisport event is scheduled to take place next month in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, where the eighteen-year-old athlete aims to secure higher honors than her previous outings. During the 2023 Asian Games held in Hangzhou, China, she successfully clinched two bronze medals across different categories.
Shifting Focus Away From Past Triumphs
Reflecting on her previous campaign in Hangzhou, she had partnered with Abhay Singh for the mixed doubles event, while teaming up with Joshna Chinappa, Dipika Pallikal, and Tanvi Khanna for the team competition. Having recently triumphed at the World Junior Championship, she noted that the celebrations had to be cut short due to rigorous training schedules for the upcoming tournament beginning on September 19.
Rigorous Preparation and Grounded Perspective
Discussing the transition from her recent victory to future goals, she mentioned that two weeks have already passed since her last major win and the focus must now remain entirely on upcoming fixtures. While she intends to carry forward the lessons learned from past matches, her complete concentration rests on delivering peak performances in Japan. When asked about how winning a major junior title has impacted her routine, she maintained a grounded outlook, stating that her daily life has largely remained unchanged as she continues to focus on her long-term athletic journey.
