In a significant development for sports administration in the region, Saran Member of Parliament Rajiv Pratap Rudy has been chosen as the new president of the Volleyball Association of Bihar. The crucial decision was reached unanimously during the annual general meeting of the association held at the Patna Club. This transition has generated fresh optimism within the regional sports circles, with stakeholders anticipating that his leadership will strengthen the organizational foundation of volleyball and grant the sport much wider recognition.
To enhance transparency and operational efficiency within the organization, Rohit Singh was entrusted with the responsibility of serving as the new secretary of the association. The gathering witnessed active participation from sports officials and executive committee members representing various districts across Bihar. Throughout the session, participants engaged in detailed discussions regarding the financial standing of the organization, the annual budget, the confirmation of minutes from previous meetings, and the restructuring of multiple administrative committees. Furthermore, approvals were granted for implementing the guidelines of the Volleyball Federation of India, outlining the framework for upcoming state-level tournaments, and selecting two male and two female representatives for the athlete commission.
Expressing gratitude to the organization following his election, the newly appointed president emphasized that Bihar possesses an abundance of raw volleyball talent spanning both rural and urban areas. He stressed that the primary requirement is to provide these promising athletes with professional training, modern amenities, and an appropriate platform to showcase their skills. He further resolved that the primary objective of the association will be to extend sporting activities down to the district and panchayat levels, ensuring that players from Bihar can successfully shine on national and international stages.
