A distinctive three-day football tournament held in Alinagar village, situated within Satkodariya panchayat under K. Nagar block of Purnia district, concluded with high energy and an unusual entertainment setup. Organizers introduced cheer dancers and dedicated music arrangements along the sidelines to motivate players and entertain the crowd. This marked the first instance in Purnia where such entertainment features were introduced during a local football match, giving the rural event a vibrant festive atmosphere.
Three-Day Competition Concludes on September 12
The tournament commenced on September 10, bringing together regional talent before culminating in the grand finale on September 12. The final match began with the arrival of the chief guest, Ajaur Rahman (also known as Pappu Bhai), who serves as the district president of the Sarpanch Association. He inaugurated the title clash by cutting the ribbon and personally greeting the competing players on the field. Thousands of enthusiastic spectators remained at the venue until late evening to witness the sporting action.
Initiative Led by Local Tribal Youth
Speaking about the concept behind the sporting event, chief guest Ajaur Rahman explained that a dedicated group of young people from the local tribal community, alongside the village youth committee, took the lead in organizing the three-day competition. The core objective was to engage rural youth constructively in sports, instill positive athletic values, and provide a healthy platform for local talent to shine in front of their home community.
Cash Rewards and Trophies for Finalists
Following the final whistle, organizers held an official prize distribution ceremony on the ground. The champions were awarded a cash prize of ₹15,051 along with the winner's trophy and individual medals. The runner-up squad took home a cash reward of ₹10,051 alongside their cup and medals. Both teams were commended for their competitive performance and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.

To sustain crowd involvement and boost team morale throughout the game, organizers featured dance performances by cheer dancers on the sidelines. The unique arrangement proved to be a massive crowd-pleaser at the Alinagar ground, prompting cheers and celebration among the thousands in attendance. Prominent local figures attending the event included former mukhiya Yugal Hansda, Mangal Basuki, Prem Soren, Mohammad Nazmul Haque, Bhaiyo Basuki, organizing committee members, and a massive gathering of residents.
