In the Gonda district of Uttar Pradesh, Ayushi Raj has taken a powerful initiative to help local women prioritize their physical and mental well-being. Household responsibilities often prevent many homemakers from taking care of their health. Recognizing this widespread challenge, Ayushi resolved to empower women by introducing them to structured fitness routines and providing free instruction to those from economically weaker backgrounds.
Educational Background and the Birth of Udaan Academy
Ayushi Raj acquired her degree in yoga while living in Lucknow, where she experienced firsthand the profound physical and mental benefits of regular practice. Inspired by her personal transformation, she decided to share these health benefits with other women in her hometown. This vision led to the establishment of Udaan Academy in Gonda, which she has been running successfully for nearly five years. Through this academy, numerous women have embraced a healthier and more active lifestyle.
Combining Traditional Yoga with Modern Fitness Routines
To make fitness engaging and accessible, Udaan Academy offers a diverse range of training programs tailored for women. Alongside traditional yoga techniques, the academy provides instruction in Zumba, aerobics, cardio workouts, and various modern yoga practices. Ayushi emphasizes that her goal extends beyond basic exercise, aiming instead to foster self-confidence and long-term wellness among all participants.
Free Fitness Training for Underprivileged Women
A defining feature of Udaan Academy is its commitment to social service. Ayushi Raj offers completely free training to women who cannot afford the membership fees, ensuring that financial constraints never stand in the way of good health. Her mission is to encourage as many women as possible to join this health movement and adopt sustainable wellness habits.
Transforming Daily Lives and Inspiring Communities
The positive impact of the academy is evident in the experiences of its members. Ruchi Shukla shared that prior to joining, her daily routine was confined strictly to household chores. Since starting regular yoga practice, her overall health has improved significantly, and neighboring women now seek her advice on fitness. Similarly, Anita Singh highlights that stepping out of the house to learn new skills is crucial for women, noting that yoga serves as a pathway to confidence and living a fulfilling life. Ayushi Raj believes that if every woman dedicates a small portion of her day to yoga, many lifestyle diseases can be prevented.
