A remarkable elderly resident of Hyderabad is capturing widespread attention for maintaining extraordinary physical vitality well into his later years. While modern lifestyle habits and adulterated diets often cause people to struggle with health issues by the time they reach fifty or sixty, seventy-four-year-old Bhadranna continues to perform demanding physical tasks with the energy of a young person. At an age when most individuals prefer resting at home, he works tirelessly under the blazing sun, digging earth with spades and shovels with remarkable agility.
The Secret of Traditional Nutrition
When asked about the secret behind his robust health and stamina, Bhadranna attributes his fitness entirely to the wholesome diet and physical labor of his earlier years. He points out that contemporary food lacks the purity and nutritional value it once had. During his youth, he consumed traditional coarse grains such as ragi, jowar, bajra, and maize in large quantities. Ragi porridge, along with jowar and maize flatbreads, formed the staple part of his daily meals. Additionally, naturally prepared non-vegetarian dishes, eggs, and fish helped build a sturdy physical foundation from within.
Decades of Continuous Labor
Bhadranna has been actively engaged in physical labor under the rural employment guarantee scheme for the past twenty years. Whether it involves breaking the soil or clearing heavy stones, he never shies away from hard work. In a project currently underway that is scheduled to take forty to forty-five days to complete, he continues to put in rigorous hours without slowing down. He firmly believes that keeping the body constantly active wards off illnesses and maintains perpetual alertness.
A Lesson for the Younger Generation
For modern youth increasingly accustomed to fast food and sedentary routines, Bhadranna offers a compelling daily example. His journey demonstrates that if traditional coarse grains are included in one's diet and the body remains physically active, advancing age becomes merely a number rather than a limitation.
