A conspiracy to murder a man and pass it off as a road mishap came to light in the Mahabubabad district of Telangana after private digital conversations were uncovered. The victim, Gade Rajeshwar Rao, approached law enforcement officials after discovering that his wife and her alleged lover had been making detailed plans to end his life. Based on the digital evidence provided by the complainant, police authorities initiated legal proceedings and transferred the case for further investigation.
Discovery of the Extramarital Affair and Secret Chats
The victim, Gade Rajeshwar Rao, a resident of Chilkodu village, married Bhavani, hailing from Raghavapuram village in Suryapet district, in the year 2016. The couple shares two daughters. The marital stability took a dramatic turn when Rao, while present at a private medical facility in Khammam, spotted his wife alongside a man named Saidulu, who works as a courier delivery agent. Suspicious of their interactions, Rao decided to inspect his wife’s mobile phone, leading to the discovery of extensive exchanges across messaging platforms WhatsApp and Instagram.
Chilling Murder Plans Disclosed in Leaked Messages
Upon scrutinizing the messaging accounts, Rao discovered conversations detailing a plan to eliminate him. The messages exchanged between Bhavani and Saidulu revealed discussions on how to carry out the murder without drawing immediate suspicion to the household. In the messages, Bhavani expressed that they could live together once her husband was out of the picture. She cautioned against executing the crime inside their residence to avoid making herself an obvious suspect, suggesting instead that the killing should be staged as an unforeseen road accident. In one stark message, she urged her lover by writing, "If you don't kill my husband, I will kill him."
Escalation, Panchayat Intervention, and Pursuit
As the tension escalated, the matter was brought before a village panchayat on July 28 in the presence of community elders in an attempt to resolve the issue. However, the conflict continued to escalate shortly after the meeting concluded. While Rao was traveling to fetch his brother from a neighboring village, Saidulu began pursuing him on the road. Fearing for his life, Rao managed to evade his pursuer and safely navigated his way back to Chilkodu village before lodging an official report.
Police Action and Case Transfer
Seeking protection and justice, Gade Rajeshwar Rao formally lodged a complaint at the Dornakal Police Station on August 1. Along with his written statement, he submitted printed screenshots of the WhatsApp and Instagram chats as physical proof of the conspiracy. Recognizing the urgency, the Dornakal police initially registered a Zero FIR to ensure immediate record-keeping. Due to jurisdictional boundaries, the case was subsequently transferred to the Khammam Rural Police Station, where active investigations into the matter are currently underway.
