The state government in Telangana has accelerated efforts to modernize and expand its judicial infrastructure through a significant and ambitious construction project. A state-of-the-art, expansive High Court complex is currently being developed in Budvel village, located within the Rajendranagar area of the Rangareddy district. This initiative serves as a permanent solution to persistent issues currently faced by the existing High Court premises, including acute space shortages, limited parking capacity, and significant administrative pressure.
Project Scope and Phased Development
The state government has allocated approximately 100 acres of land near Aramghar in Budvel for this expansive development. Beyond its aesthetic grandeur, the facility is being designed with a focus on environmental sustainability. To ensure the construction process remains orderly and efficient, the project has been divided into distinct phases. Currently, work is progressing at a rapid pace under Zone-I, which focuses on the construction of the primary administrative and court buildings, while Zone-II is dedicated to the development of residential facilities for judges and court staff.
Increased Budget and Advanced Features
Initially, the capital outlay for this primary infrastructure project was estimated at approximately 500 crore rupees. However, following the integration of modern security systems, fully digital courtrooms, and luxury residential amenities, the total budget—as outlined in the latest Detailed Project Report (DPR)—has surpassed 2,500 crore rupees. The government is committed to ensuring this center ranks among the most technologically advanced judicial facilities in the nation.
Target Completion by December 2027
The Telangana government has set a firm deadline of December 2027 to make the new High Court campus fully operational. Once completed, the new facility will significantly alleviate the administrative burden on the historic High Court building. The upcoming complex will be equipped with modern digital courtrooms, spacious lounges for legal practitioners, ample multi-level parking, and all necessary amenities for litigants. Furthermore, the project is expected to act as a catalyst for urban and economic growth throughout the Rajendranagar region and its surrounding vicinities.
