To address the intense passenger rush and ease travel across major transport corridors, railway authorities have introduced a dedicated special train operating between Mau in eastern Uttar Pradesh and Lokmanya Tilak Terminus in Mumbai. The service is expected to significantly reduce waitlist pressures for passengers across Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra, offering much-needed confirmed berths and affordable transit options along this high-demand transit artery.
Coach Composition and Operating Days
The newly scheduled special service will function with a 22-coach layout intended to serve various passenger segments. This arrangement includes 11 Sleeper class coaches, 5 General class compartments, 2 Third AC coaches, and 2 SLRD utility compartments.
Departing from Mau toward Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, the train will run twice a week, operating every Tuesday and Sunday from October 13 through November 22. In the reverse direction, originating from Lokmanya Tilak Terminus toward Mau, the service will run every Friday and Sunday between October 11 and November 20.
Train Number 01124: Route and Timings from Mau to Mumbai
Operating under train number 01124, the service from Mau to Lokmanya Tilak Terminus begins its journey at 04:15 hours from Mau. Continuing through eastern Uttar Pradesh, it departs Muhammadabad at 04:30 hours, Azamgarh at 05:05 hours, Khorason Road at 05:42 hours, Shahganj Junction at 06:30 hours, Jaunpur Junction at 08:15 hours, and Varanasi Junction at 10:00 hours.
The train then proceeds to Prayagraj Chheoki, departing at 14:25 hours, followed by Manikpur Junction at 17:02 hours. Crossing into Madhya Pradesh, the service halts at Satna at 18:10 hours, Maihar at 18:40 hours, Katni Junction at 19:35 hours, Madan Mahal at 21:10 hours, and Narsinghpur at 22:28 hours. During late-night and early-morning hours, it leaves Pipariya at 00:05 hours, Itarsi Junction at 02:05 hours, and Khandwa Junction at 04:33 hours.
Moving across Maharashtra, departures include Bhusaval Junction at 06:55 hours, Jalgaon Junction at 07:18 hours, Nashik Road at 10:30 hours, and Igatpuri at 12:45 hours. Reaching the Mumbai metropolitan corridor, it halts at Kalyan Junction, departing at 14:30 hours, and Thane at 14:55 hours, before concluding its run at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 16:45 hours.
Train Number 01123: Reverse Schedule from Mumbai to Mau
Operating in the return direction under train number 01123, the train departs Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 12:15 hours. Outward stops include Thane at 12:38 hours, Kalyan Junction at 12:55 hours, Igatpuri at 14:45 hours, and Nashik Road at 15:15 hours. Moving through north Maharashtra, it leaves Jalgaon Junction at 18:48 hours, Bhusaval Junction at 19:15 hours, and Khandwa Junction at 21:00 hours.
