In a major effort to accommodate the heavy rush of passengers and streamline train journeys, Western Railway has announced the extension of 30 special train services. This crucial decision is set to benefit hundreds of thousands of commuters traveling across major states including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Rajasthan. The operational periods of these holiday and custom special trains have been extended into late July, August, and early September of 2026. Vineet Abhishek, the Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of Western Railway, shared the comprehensive details of all the trains receiving this service extension.
Expanding Services to Tackle Passenger Rush
During peak travel seasons, regular train services often face immense pressure, leading to long waiting lists and congested coaches. By extending these 30 special train services, Western Railway aims to provide a more comfortable and hassle-free travel experience for those heading to northern, western, and eastern regions of India. The extension is especially helpful for migrant workers, families planning vacations, and individuals traveling to their hometowns. With these services prolonged, passengers will have a better chance of securing confirmed berths and planning their journeys well in advance.
