Northern Railway has decided to run two new special trains to help passengers cope with the seasonal rush of summer travel. Railway officials say the move comes as regular trains have been seeing heavy demand for seats, and the special services are meant to ease congestion and give travellers a better chance at reservations. One of the two trains will connect Haridwar in Uttarakhand with Veraval in Gujarat, while the other will run between Delhi's Sarai Rohilla station and Ashok Nagar in Madhya Pradesh. Northern Railway has released the full timing, dates and list of halting stations for both services.
Haridwar-Veraval special train timings
Train number 09203, the Veraval-Haridwar special, will leave Veraval at 16.05 every Tuesday from 7 July to 28 July, reaching Haridwar the next day, Wednesday, at 20.40. On the return leg, train number 09204, the Haridwar-Veraval special, will depart Haridwar at 21.30 every Wednesday from 8 July to 29 July and arrive in Veraval on Friday at 09.45. In other words, the journey in either direction stretches well beyond a full day.
Where the Haridwar-Veraval train will halt
Running in both directions, this special train will stop at a long list of stations along the way, including Roorkee, Muzaffarnagar, Meerut City, Ghaziabad, Delhi Junction, Gurgaon, Rewari, Ateli, Narnaul, Neem Ka Thana, Shri Madhopur, Phulera, Kishangarh, Ajmer, Beawar, Falna, Abu Road, Palanpur, Mahesana, Gandhigram, Dholka, Dhandhuka, Botad, Dhola, Dhasa, Jetalsar and Junagadh. With so many stops, the train should directly benefit passengers travelling between Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan and Gujarat.
Delhi Sarai Rohilla-Ashok Nagar special train timings
The second special train will run between Delhi Sarai Rohilla and Ashok Nagar. Train number 04004, the Delhi Sarai Rohilla-Ashok Nagar special, will leave Delhi Sarai Rohilla station at 12.15 in the afternoon on 26 July and reach Ashok Nagar at 04.00 the following morning. On the return journey, train number 04003, the Ashok Nagar-Delhi Sarai Rohilla special, will depart Ashok Nagar at 17.00 on 30 July and arrive at Delhi Sarai Rohilla at 08.45 the next morning.
Stations where this train will stop
Travelling between Delhi Sarai Rohilla and Ashok Nagar, this special train will halt in both directions at Faridabad, Kosi Kalan, Mathura Junction, Agra Cantt, Dholpur, Gwalior, Veerangana Lakshmibai Jhansi and Bina railway stations. Passengers travelling between Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh will be able to use this service for their journeys. Travellers are advised to check the railway's official ticket and seat availability information before setting out, since both these special trains are running only on limited dates.
