In Sector 89, an intoxicated driver behind the wheel of a Mahindra Thar triggered widespread chaos by repeatedly crashing into a commercial cab and destroying its front structure. Meanwhile, in a separate fatal hit-and-run incident near Cyber Hub, a food delivery rider lost his life after being struck by an unidentified speeding vehicle. Additionally, a local court sent two men accused of hitting a female rider to judicial custody for fourteen days after their police remand ended.
High-Voltage Rampage: Thar Driver Rams Cab in Sector 89
Panic gripped residents of Sector 89 when an intoxicated motorist created a high-voltage spectacle on the road. The driver, operating a Mahindra Thar registered with Delhi license plates, deliberately targeted a parked commercial cab. Driving aggressively, the individual repeatedly reversed and rammed the SUV into the front of the cab. The sustained impact completely smashed and crumpled the entire front section of the smaller vehicle.
Passersby captured the destructive act on camera, and the footage quickly circulated widely across social media networks. Fortunately, no passengers or pedestrians were trapped in or near the cab during the violent strikes, preventing physical injuries or loss of life. Delivery Rider Succumbs to Injuries After Collision Outside Cyber Hub
A fatal instance of negligent driving occurred right outside the busy Cyber Hub precinct on the afternoon of September 18. The tragic incident claimed the life of Janak Singh, a delivery worker originally from Mainpuri in Uttar Pradesh, who was temporarily living in a rented room in Kapashera to earn a living as a rider. His son, Pushpendra Yadav, filed a formal police complaint describing the sequence of events.
According to the complaint, Janak Singh was traveling on his motorcycle from Shankar Chowk toward IFFCO Chowk at around 1:30 PM. As he reached the stretch in front of Cyber Hub, an unidentified vehicle being driven at excessive speed and with total negligence violently crashed into his two-wheeler from behind. The impact threw Janak Singh onto the pavement with critical wounds, while the driver accelerated and escaped without offering assistance. The victim was rushed to the Civil Hospital in Sector 10, but he succumbed to severe injuries while undergoing medical care. The DLF Phase-2 police station has launched an investigation, scanning through footage retrieved from numerous CCTV surveillance cameras along the corridor to trace the runaway vehicle.
Two Accused Sent to Jail for 14 Days in Female Rider Hit Case
Legal proceedings progressed in another reckless driving case involving a collision that injured a female rider. The two accused individuals, identified as Kalyan Baisla and Lavneesh, had previously been arrested by law enforcement authorities. After their two-day police remand concluded, investigators produced both men before a local judicial magistrate on Friday. The court remanded both Kalyan Baisla and Lavneesh to judicial custody for a period of 14 days.
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) handling the probe informed the judiciary that the suspects persistently refused to cooperate during interrogation. Police officials stated that the duo deliberately provided contradictory and false information regarding the addresses and identities of their absconding associates, actively trying to mislead the inquiry. SIT personnel are now relying on phone location records and digital surveillance to apprehend the remaining individuals linked to the case.
