A new promo for the upcoming season of India's biggest reality show has taken over social media timelines, and this time the buzz isn't about a contestant fight but a warm, funny moment between a father, his daughter, and the host himself.
Bhojpuri actor and Member of Parliament Manoj Tiwari isn't walking into the Bigg Boss house as a participant this season. Instead, he showed up on stage only to drop off his daughter, Riti Tiwari, who is joining the show as a contestant. Her arrival gave Salman Khan the perfect cue to dig up an old memory from the show's history, and the exchange that followed is now spreading rapidly online.
Father Sings His Way In, Daughter Steals the Show
The promo opens with Manoj Tiwari walking onto the stage performing his widely recognised track, "Rinkiya Ke Papa." Moments later, Riti Tiwari makes her own entrance, and Salman Khan immediately slips into his trademark playful banter with her. Bringing up a famous altercation from Bigg Boss 4 involving eggs, he jokingly warns Riti to never get into a fight over eggs once she is inside the house.
Salman then turns towards Manoj Tiwari and adds a cheeky dig, telling Riti not to take after her father. The line leaves Manoj visibly flustered, and he covers his face on stage. Riti, however, isn't one to back down. Laughing, she shoots back, "Baap pe... jaana nahin," making it clear she has no plans to follow in her father's footsteps, at least on this particular front. Clips of the exchange are now being widely shared across social media.
The Egg Fight Salman Was Referencing
Salman's joke is a direct callback to one of Bigg Boss 4's most memorable arguments, a heated dispute between Manoj Tiwari and Dolly Bindra centred entirely on eggs. During that season, Manoj had wanted to make himself an omelette for breakfast, while Dolly Bindra insisted he first finish off the leftover food sitting in the kitchen. The disagreement escalated quickly, and an angry Manoj Tiwari eventually declared that the kitchen didn't belong to anyone's father. Dolly Bindra fired back just as sharply, telling him not to bring his father into the argument. Years later, it's that very line Salman Khan appears to be echoing while teasing Riti on stage.
New Season Begins September 6
Salman Khan first stepped into the host's chair with Bigg Boss 4 back in 2010, taking over the role from Amitabh Bachchan, and he has fronted every season since. The new season, Bigg Boss 20, premieres on September 6, with Salman set to bring back his signature hosting style for both the housemates and viewers at home. Riti Tiwari's entry into the house has already added to the anticipation among fans ahead of the launch.
