Behind-the-scenes stories from television show sets frequently highlight the contrasting dynamics between co-stars. Actress Aamrapali Gupta recently spoke candidly about her experience working alongside actor Dheeraj Dhoopar. Reflecting on their shared project, she detailed his on-set work ethic and daily habits, explaining how his arrival times and personal routines regularly inconvenienced fellow cast members. According to her, Dheeraj displayed little consideration for the schedules of his co-actors, which repeatedly caused delays across the entire production timeline.
The Contractual Clause and Morning Delays
Aamrapali Gupta explained that Dheeraj Dhoopar had negotiated a specific contractual agreement with the production house. Under this contract, his shift was fixed from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM. However, details of this arrangement were never communicated to the rest of the cast. Consequently, Dheeraj would never arrive at the filming venue before 11:00 AM, leaving co-stars who reported earlier waiting around for his presence.
Lengthy Makeup Sessions and Rushed Morning Shoots
Arrival at 11:00 AM did not translate into immediate filming. The actress shared that Dheeraj required approximately one to one and a half hours in the makeup room to get ready. Given that television daily soaps feature extensive dialog-heavy scenes, all cast members also needed to assemble for joint script readings. These essential reading sessions typically consumed another thirty minutes.
By the time makeup, styling, and script discussions concluded, the clock would already read 1:00 PM or 1:30 PM. With the mandatory afternoon lunch break scheduled strictly at 2:00 PM, barely half an hour remained for actual camera work. Setting up lighting equipment, camera angles, and scene blocking consumed most of this remaining window, resulting in virtually no meaningful footage being captured before lunch.
Post Lunch Rest and Rushed Evening Schedules
The operational challenges persisted even after the break. Aamrapali Gupta revealed that following lunch, Dheeraj Dhoopar routinely took a one-hour nap. During his rest period, the production crew attempted to utilize time by filming close-up shots of the other actors.
Once he woke up, his scenes had to be recorded at an expedited pace because his contract permitted him to pack up and leave precisely at 9:00 PM. This hurry to wrap up his portions before his departure created an environment of stress and forced the remaining cast members to adjust their plans constantly.
Equality Among Artists and Professional Respect
Addressing these professional disparities, Aamrapali Gupta emphasized that everyone contributing to a project is fundamentally an artist. She noted that whether an actor is classified as major or minor, their time holds equal value. In her view, the only practical difference between a prominent star and a supporting actor lies in the remuneration and public recognition they receive, as bigger names command higher fees and greater fame.
For context, Aamrapali Gupta and Dheeraj Dhoopar shared screen space in the popular television serial 'Rab Se Hai Dua'. The show received positive viewership ratings from audiences, and following his stint in the daily soap, Dheeraj Dhoopar secured a spot on the reality show 'Lock Upp 2'.
