The Fatal Attack While Returning From a Fair
The brutal crime took place on the night of October 22. Sanjay Saxena, a resident of Shanti Vihar Colony in Subhashnagar, was heading home on a motorcycle after visiting a local fair accompanied by his friend Monu. Reports allege that upon reaching near the Holi चौक, several individuals blocked their path. Following a brief verbal altercation and abuses, the attackers launched a vicious assault using wooden sticks on both men. Sanjay sustained critical injuries during the beating. Family members rushed him to the district hospital for medical attention, where doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival. During the chaos of the attack, Sanjay's friend Monu managed to flee the scene. Acting on a formal complaint filed by the victim's sister, Sakshi, the police registered a case and launched a thorough investigation.
Old Rivalry Cited as the Motive Behind the Murder
During custodial interrogation, the accused revealed that a long-standing personal feud triggered the violence. Police stated that Sanjay had previously been involved in altercations with some of the perpetrators. Harboring this old grudge, the assailants targeted him and his friend while they were returning from the fair. However, the police investigation and legal proceedings surrounding the incident remain active.
Authorities noted that four suspects had already been arrested and sent to jail earlier in connection with the case. With the fresh arrest of Rajesh गुर्जर and three others, the total apprehended count has reached eight. Police further added that a comprehensive verification of the criminal backgrounds of all arrested individuals is underway to determine subsequent legal measures.
