A severe fire ripped through six shops in Sector 126, Noida on Saturday, claiming the life of one individual. Upon receiving information about the incident, local police and fire department units rushed to the scene to battle the raging flames. After strenuous efforts, the blaze was successfully brought under control, paving the way for a thorough search operation in the affected area. During the sweep, an unconscious person was discovered and immediately rushed to a hospital, where attending doctors pronounced him dead. A significant cache of LPG cylinders was recovered from inside the shops, prompting rescue personnel to exercise extreme caution during the operation. Authorities are currently investigating the exact cause of the fire and assessing the extent of the damage.
Firefighters douse flames and conduct search operations
Detailing the incident, Noida Additional DCP Abhay Kumar Mishra stated that an emergency call was received regarding a fire in the Sector 126 police station jurisdiction. Local police and fire brigades arrived promptly, working swiftly to contain the fire. While inspecting the surrounding area, a person was found unconscious and transported to a medical facility, where medical staff declared him dead upon arrival. Police confirmed that further legal procedures are underway in connection with the incident.
Large quantity of LPG cylinders found inside shops
Noida Chief Fire Officer Pradeep Kumar revealed that a large number of LPG cylinders were recovered from the site of the accident. Firefighters managed this hazardous situation while simultaneously conducting search and rescue operations to ensure no one else remained trapped inside the premises. The department is actively working to determine if anyone else was caught in the area, while a detailed report on the cause of the fire and property damage is still awaited.

A few days ago, a massive fire broke out due to an IGL gas pipeline leak behind Sharda University in Greater Noida's Knowledge Park-3. The flames spread with alarming speed, triggering panic throughout the neighborhood. Within moments, the fire assumed terrifying proportions, sending towering columns of flames visible from a distance. Local residents had immediately alerted police and fire services at the time. Fire tenders and the IGL team reached the spot promptly, cutting off the gas supply and working to extinguish the blaze.
