A deeply distressing and baffling sequence of events has unfolded in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, where three real brothers from the same household died by suicide within a span of six months. These successive tragedies in the Wajidpur locality have plunged the surviving family members into profound grief while sending shockwaves of fear throughout the entire neighborhood. Residents are grappling with numerous unanswered questions regarding the mental state and the circumstances that drove all three siblings to end their lives.
Strange claims of being called in dreams
As the tragedy unfolded over the six-month period, unsettling details emerged from conversations the brothers had with their family members and neighbors. According to locals, at least two of the brothers claimed before their deaths that their deceased siblings were visiting them in dreams and calling them over. The eldest brother, Vikas Nishad, died on July 10 after jumping from the second floor of his residence. Prior to his death, Vikas repeatedly told his sister and neighbors that his departed brothers were summoning him and that he would eventually join them, regardless of any medical treatment or intervention.
A timeline of consecutive losses
The devastating series of deaths struck the household one after another over half a year. Before Vikas took his own life, his younger brother Govind died by hanging, while another brother, Aman, jumped to his death from the first floor of the house. Following Govind's death, Aman had similarly expressed to family members that Govind was calling him close. The cumulative impact of these losses completely shattered the family, leaving behind an atmosphere of helpless despair.
Efforts seeking medical help and spiritual remedies
Faced with the deeply disturbing behavior and deteriorating state of their sons, the family made desperate attempts to help them. Neighbors noted that the relatives sought professional medical assistance for the brothers and even resorted to traditional spiritual rituals and exorcisms in hopes of reversing the situation. Despite all these interventions, the rapid succession of losses within a brief period left the family devastated and searching for answers that remain elusive.
Fear grips the Wajidpur neighborhood
The tragic events have significantly altered the daily routines and peace of mind of residents living in Wajidpur. Fear and anxiety now dominate the locality, where people previously spent their evenings socializing outside their homes. Residents shared that families now bolt their doors shut as early as 7:00 PM every evening. Even a routine knock on the door after dark triggers intense apprehension. Daylight offers the only window of normalcy, when neighbors gather outside the family home to discuss the grim sequence of events.
