Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has launched a sharp criticism against the INDIA bloc following their ongoing demonstrations in the national capital, Delhi. Addressing matters in Gorakhpur, he alleged that the opposition's agitations are creating widespread disruption and causing unnecessary hardship for ordinary citizens. Taking direct aim at the political posture of the Congress, he pointed out a contradictory pattern where electoral victories are celebrated as personal triumphs, while defeats are routinely blamed on Electronic Voting Machines and the Election Commission.
Concerns Over Constitutional Institutions and Electoral Accountability
Yogi Adityanath condemned the opposition's approach toward key democratic pillars, arguing that questioning autonomous institutions damages public trust. Pointing out the shift in stance based on ballot outcomes, he stated, "If they win an election, it is their prowess, but if they lose, the EVM and the Election Commission are to blame."
The Chief Minister remarked that continuously dragging constitutional bodies into controversy has become a pattern in Congress's political strategy. He argued that the party needs to reconsider its conduct and replace leadership that fosters mistrust among the electorate. He cautioned that creating instability and raising doubts over constitutional bodies will not be tolerated indefinitely by the public, warning that persisting with such tactics could lead to the complete erosion of whatever political ground the party currently retains.
Reference to Electoral History in Uttar Pradesh and Across States
Highlighting the electoral trajectory of the Congress, Yogi Adityanath observed that citizens across the nation are monitoring these political developments closely. He suggested that party leaders must critically analyze why voters have repeatedly turned away from them across various elections. Bringing attention to historical political trends, he pointed out that Congress has failed to return to power in Uttar Pradesh since 1985, noting that the state moved away from the party 41 years ago.
He noted that similar trends occurred in several other states across the country, where voters gradually grew disillusioned and voted the party out of office. Adityanath alleged that instead of addressing internal weaknesses, attempts are being made to obscure electoral failures by fostering unrest against democratic processes and legitimately elected governments. He concluded that Delhi has witnessed repeated attempts over recent days to generate unnecessary disturbance that disrupts normal civilian life.
