Markets across Dehradun are gearing up for the upcoming Diwali celebrations with an extensive array of modern and eco-friendly fireworks. Prominent commercial hubs such Paltan Bazaar, Jhanda Bazaar, Mannu Ganj, and Hanuman Chowk have seen a massive surge in demand specifically for green crackers. These advanced variants are engineered to produce significantly less smoke and noise while delivering vibrant illumination and rich colors. Local merchants point out that these environmentally conscious fireworks allow citizens to celebrate the festival with full zeal while keeping air pollution levels in check.
Butterfly and Lotus Chakras Steal the Spotlight
A variety of innovative designs have flooded the market, capturing the attention of youngsters and families alike. Among these, the butterfly and lotus chakra fireworks have emerged as major centers of attraction. The butterfly cracker scatters multicolored lights across the ground, while the lotus chakra rotates like a blossoming flower as it burns. Discussing the collection, a local vendor named Manas explained that his inventory features specialized butterfly crackers that strictly qualify as green fireworks designed to minimize pollution. When ignited, these butterfly items project multiple bright hues resembling fluttering insects. Furthermore, a tank-shaped cracker has also arrived in the local inventory, featuring a precise military tank design that discharges fiery bursts forward upon ignition.
Novel and Low-Noise Designs Tailored for Children
Keeping young consumers in mind, manufacturers have introduced low-noise sparklers alongside newly designed flower pots. Novelties featuring popular cartoon themes like Shinchan alongside flying helicopter crackers have arrived for the festive season. Vendor Garima Wadhwa shared that the newly introduced helicopter crackers bring immense joy to children, as they lift off and fly into the air resembling actual aircraft when lit. She added that while children traditionally receive sweets and gift hampers during the festival, these entertaining fireworks significantly amplify their festive delight.
High Shots and Sky Shots Enhance Celebrations
Traders observe that over the years, the variety of fireworks has expanded to include sophisticated engineering. Manas noted that his shop stocks high-shot pyrotechnics that create carnival-style multi-color displays reminiscent of grand wedding celebrations. Additionally, one-by-one sequential shots that fire continuously in succession are readily available alongside colorful flower pots, sparklers, and various other advanced products.
Traders Note Rising Enthusiasm for Eco-Friendly Celebrations
Merchants highlight that pricing remains accessible, with sky-shot varieties starting from an affordable range of 100 rupees. Garima Wadhwa noted that Diwali is widely regarded as one of the biggest festivals for Hindus, and she has been engaged in selling festive goods for many years. Manas reiterated that the extensive variety arriving in the market consists entirely of green fireworks, noting a tremendous wave of enthusiasm among the public for eco-friendly celebrations.
