Three girls from Haridwar district in Uttarakhand, including two minors aged 17 and 13, who fled their homes due to marriage pressure, have been located safely by police at a hotel in the Paharganj area of Delhi. Troubled by continuous pressure from their families to get married, the three girls made a sudden decision to leave their homes and traveled to the national capital. Upon arriving in Delhi, they checked into a hotel in Paharganj to stay. Following a complaint lodged by their family members, the police initiated a swift operation, utilizing technical surveillance and local inquiries to trace the exact location of the girls and recover them safely.
Fleeing Family Pressure to Pursue Financial Independence
During preliminary questioning by the police, the girls revealed the primary reason behind their sudden departure from home. They stated that their family members were pressuring them into marriage against their wishes, as they were not ready to get married. Consequently, the three decided together to leave home and move to Delhi with the objective of finding employment and earning their own livelihood independently. Guided by this plan, they left Haridwar, reached Delhi, and established their temporary residence at a hotel situated on Arakashan Road in the Paharganj locality.
Registration of Case and Inter-State Police Coordination
The incident falls under the jurisdiction of the Ganganahar police station in Haridwar district. When the three girls went missing unexpectedly and their families were unable to trace them, the relatives approached the authorities. Based on the family's complaint, the Ganganahar police station registered a First Information Report (FIR) on September 8 and launched an investigation. Recognizing the gravity of the case involving two minor girls, Uttarakhand Police immediately established contact with Delhi Police to share detailed information and photographs of the missing individuals.
Intensive Search Operation Across Paharganj Hotels
Upon receiving the information from Haridwar police, the Nabi Karim police station in Delhi constituted a specialized team to handle the search operation. The special team launched a comprehensive investigation across the commercial and lodging hubs of Paharganj and Arakashan Road. Police personnel inspected numerous hotels and guest houses across the area, showing photographs of the three girls to hotel management, staff members, and local shopkeepers to gather actionable intelligence.
Technical Surveillance Leads to Safe Recovery
Alongside ground-level inquiries, the police team deployed technical surveillance tools to track the movement of the missing girls. Continuous monitoring and data analysis enabled the team to pinpoint their exact location. Armed with specific inputs, the police raided a hotel located on Arakashan Road and successfully recovered all three girls unharmed. After fulfilling all mandatory legal formalities, the Delhi Police handed over the three girls to the visiting officers from the Ganganahar police station. Haridwar Police are now conducting further investigations to ascertain how the girls traveled from Haridwar to Delhi and how they secured accommodation at the hotel.
