With the Haridwar Ardh Kumbh scheduled for the year 2027, various government departments have aggressively accelerated their preparations. The fair administration and associated official bodies are working around the clock to ensure all event-related tasks are finished on schedule. During this spiritually significant gathering, massive numbers of pilgrims and travelers from every state across the country and from foreign nations are expected to arrive in Haridwar.
Delivering a Divine Experience for Visitors
Special arrangements are currently underway to ensure that every visitor attending the religious festival enjoys a pleasant and transcendental experience upon arrival. To enhance the grandeur and divinity of the holy city, the Haridwar Roorkee Development Authority, or HRDA, has shouldered the major responsibility of sprucing up the entire urban area.
Sanatan Culture Depicted on Walls
As pilgrims enter Haridwar for the Ardh Kumbh, eye-catching paintings are being created along the boundary walls of both sides of the highways. Beautiful artwork depicting Hindu culture and traditional religious episodes is being painted across city walls, with the core objective of showcasing the spiritual essence of the sacred town to outside travelers.
Wartime Pace for Beautification Drives
To give momentum to the preparations, special beautification campaigns are underway around the main arterial routes, major intersections, and river ghats within the fair zone. The administration aims to present an aesthetically pleasing view of streets and walls to anyone traversing the city, prompting HRDA teams to execute painting and decoration work at a rapid pace.
Facade Policy Implementation
Shedding light on the urban transformation, HRDA Secretary Pratyush Singh explained that these initiatives are being executed under a facade policy keeping the upcoming Ardh Kumbh in mind. He noted that the department is making dedicated efforts to present the historical grandeur and authentic religious atmosphere of the event to guests arriving from different states and abroad.
Clear Directions from the Chief Minister
HRDA Secretary Pratyush Singh stated that the Chief Minister has issued clear directives ensuring that incoming devotees witness unprecedented beauty across the holy city. Main routes and royal bathing procession paths are being brought under a uniform appearance through the facade policy, which includes standardizing signboards on shops and commercial establishments.
Modernizing Intersections and Roads
Aside from painting boundary walls, multiple other crucial beautification projects are being implemented by the development authority. Detailed plans were formulated and tendered for these initiatives, and work is currently moving swiftly to modernize the main intersections and thoroughfares of the city.
Revamping Shankaracharya Chowk and Dividers
According to HRDA Secretary Pratyush Singh, special beautification work is taking place at the prominent Shankaracharya Chowk. Simultaneously, efforts are underway to beautify the central dividers running along major pathways, ensuring Haridwar is fully dressed up and ready well before the Ardh Kumbh begins.
