Family Alleges 14 Years of Abuse and Constant Suspicion
Following the discovery, relatives of the deceased raised serious allegations against her husband and in-laws. According to family members, Jhuma had entered into wedlock with Gobinda Biswas, a resident of Pharinggachhi in Kalna, approximately 14 years ago. The family stated that almost from the beginning of their marriage, Jhuma was subjected to continuous physical violence and domestic torment. Relatives alleged that Gobinda was heavily addicted to alcohol and would routinely assault his wife in an inebriated state. Detailing how the tragic news reached them, Jhuma's maternal uncle stated that they received a phone call late on Tuesday night informing them that she had purportedly hung herself. Circumstances surrounding the death turned even more questionable as the husband, Gobinda Biswas, immediately fled the scene and has been missing since the incident occurred.
