The Democratic lawmaker from California revealed the details of this harrowing encounter on Saturday, sharing how he was held for an extended period in a demolished Palestinian village.

The confrontation took place on Wednesday while Khanna was touring the remains of Khirbet Zanuta, a village situated in the southern region of the West Bank. Armed individuals from a nearby Israeli settlement emerged carrying American-manufactured M4S rifles. These gunmen actively blocked and detained the congressman along with other American citizens who accompanied him on the trip.
Instead of defusing the situation, the arrival of the Israeli Defense Forces, or IDF, compounded the crisis.
