Sikar, widely recognized across India as a premier destination for medical entrance test preparation, has rapidly expanded its footprint into undergraduate medical education. Trends emerging from the first-round provisional allotment of Rajasthan NEET-UG counseling demonstrate that aspiring doctors are increasingly choosing Sikar to pursue their MBBS degrees. A conducive academic atmosphere, an established coaching ecosystem, and expanding clinical facilities are driving students toward the district's medical institutions.
Sikar Medical College Outperforms Older State Institutions in Student Preference
While SMS Medical College in Jaipur remains the top preference for candidates across Rajasthan, Sikar Medical College secured the second position in its category during the first allotment round. Notably, Sikar Medical College surpassed several older medical colleges under RajMES in terms of cutoff marks and candidate preferences. In contrast, state medical colleges located in districts such as Jaisalmer, Banswara, and Baran recorded relatively lower student preference ranks. Strong transport connectivity and proximity to Jaipur have significantly enhanced the appeal of Sikar's academic facilities.
State Quota Allocation Rules and Official Counseling Overview
According to career expert Vinod Verma, the Rajasthan NEET UG Admission Counseling Board issued allotments covering 85 percent state quota seats across government medical colleges and 100 percent of seats in private medical institutions. Seats were allocated across various categories based on merit rankings in the initial round. The outcome highlights how Sikar has successfully transitioned from being strictly an entrance exam prep destination into a competitive hub for professional degree programs.
High Applicant Demand at Prince Medical College
The allotment data also showed strong enthusiasm for Prince Medical College, the first private medical institution established in Sikar. Expert analysis indicated that candidates scoring 520 marks with an all-India rank of 65,657 actively included Prince Medical College in their choice lists. Dr. Piyush Sunda, chairman of the institution, stated that candidates filled all available seats, including the open category slots, as their top choice during the counseling process.
Admission Timeline, Tuition Fee Payment, and Verification Protocols
Candidates allocated seats under the provisional list must complete their admission formalities within the stipulated deadline. Allotted students are required to deposit their first-year tuition fees by September 5. Following fee payment, candidates must present their original documents for physical verification at the Academic Block of SMS Medical College in Jaipur. Additionally, today marks the final deadline for students completing online and physical reporting under the All India Quota.
Clinical Practice Opportunities at Kalyan Hospital and Regional Connectivity
The rising popularity of medical education in Sikar is closely connected to the clinical infrastructure offered by Kalyan Hospital. As the primary government referral hospital in the Shekhawati region, its high patient inflow provides MBBS students with substantial practical exposure and clinical training. Furthermore, robust transport links connecting Sikar to major urban centers like Delhi and Jaipur make the city an efficient and accessible hub for higher medical education.
