Upon receiving the mother's complaint on September 18, personnel at the Namsai Police Station formally registered First Information Report number 69/2026. The case invokes Sections 70(2) and 96 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). In addition, given the age of the victim, authorities invoked severe sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, specifically Sections 6(1), 10, and 12, to address aggravated offences against a minor.
