The deceased officers have been identified as Officer-in-Charge Indrajit Bora and Havildar Fazrul Ali. Officer Bora, who was heading the Gamerimura Police Outpost, was a native of Changshari within Kamrup district. Havildar Ali, posted at the same border facility, hailed from Sarbhog. The individual accused of carrying out the fatal attack has been identified as Chiranjib Choudhury, a police constable affiliated with the 29th Assam Police Battalion.
