The automaker achieved total domestic dispatches of 1,76,971 vehicles during August 2026. This volume represents an expansion of 34.81 percent over the 1,31,278 units delivered in the corresponding month of 2025. Sustained retail demand across urban and semi-urban pockets underpinned this robust year-on-year growth trajectory.
Wagon R Retains Top Position in Vehicle Portfolio
Leading the dispatch tally across the manufacturer's lineup was the Wagon R hatchback, capturing the number one slot with 20,180 units delivered in the past month. The tall-boy hatchback had registered 14,552 units in August 2025, thereby reflecting an annual uptick of 38.68 percent. The model remains a preferred selection for cost-conscious commuters, carrying an ex-showroom price bracket running between Rs 4.99 lakh and Rs 7.24 lakh depending on the variant chosen.
The car features upright proportions that afford generous passenger volume alongside practical utility. Luggage capacity stands at 341 litres of boot space, which can be expanded via 60:40 split-folding rear seats. Onboard creature comforts encompass a 7-inch touchscreen unit compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with keyless entry. Passenger safety has been standardized with 6 airbags, ABS paired with EBD, electronic stability program, and rear parking sensors across the range. Propulsion is delivered by either a 998cc or an 1197cc petrol powerplant, with CNG bi-fuel alternatives also offered. Fuel economy figures range from 23.56 to 25.19 km per litre on petrol, while the CNG variants deliver up to 34 km per kg.
Swift, Fronx, and Ertiga Maintain Strong Trajectory
Securing second position on the charts was the Swift hatchback. In September 2026, dispatches for the Swift reached 19,832 units, marking an annual growth of 60.13 percent when evaluated against the 12,385 vehicles sold during September 2025. The third rank went to the Fronx crossover, which drew 18,730 buyers during the month, improving 50.78 percent year-on-year over the 12,422 units logged in August 2025.
The Ertiga multi-purpose vehicle captured fourth place with 18,516 dispatches, representing a flat 0.38 percent increase over the 18,445 units recorded in August 2025. Rounding off the top-five roster was the Dzire compact sedan at 18,418 units, translating into an 11.56 percent growth relative to its August 2025 count of 16,509 units.
Volume Distribution Across Other Lineup Models
Beyond the five leading performers, the automaker recorded varying volumes across the rest of its fleet. Baleno contributed 15,746 units, closely tracked by the Brezza compact SUV at 15,288 units. Dispatches for Victoris touched 12,978 units, while the utilitarian Eeco registered 11,961 units. Entry-level Alto sales closed at 8,692 units, alongside 7,808 units of G Vitara. Lower-volume contributions included 3,339 units of XL6, 2,990 units of Celerio, and 1,586 units of eVitara. Meanwhile, niche offerings faced subdued retail traction, with Jimny recording 586 units, Invicto dispatching 214 units, and S-Presso settling at 107 units.
